Drive Shaft Staightening and Grinding
Arcoprofil drive shaft straightening and grinding. This process is crucial to ensure our final precision and quality.
Drive shaft straightening is a critical operation that completes the manufacturing process after all previous production stages, ensuring maximum precision and superior product quality.
Grinding is a high-precision finishing process that removes minimal amounts of material from the shaft surface, typically following heat treatment or earlier machining operations. This step is essential to achieve tight tolerances, optimal surface finish, and consistent performance of the drive shaft.
The grinding department represents one of the core areas of Arcoprofil’s production facility, featuring cutting-edge technologies and a high level of industrial automation. Alongside traditional measuring instruments, the department employs advanced optical scanners to accurately measure diameters and inspect spline profiles, ensuring strict quality control at every stage.
Equipped with 7 CNC grinding machines, the department is capable of grinding internal and external diameters up to 250 mm on components with lengths of up to 1,600 mm, meeting the requirements of high-precision mechanical applications.
The extensive automation of the grinding department has delivered significant advantages by minimizing manual handling, optimizing the man-to-machine ratio, and creating a safer, more ergonomic working environment. In particular, the reduced physical demands of automated processes have enabled Arcoprofil to overcome traditional barriers within the metalworking industry, fostering greater gender inclusion.
As a result, the company is experiencing a growing female presence across its production areas, demonstrating how technological innovation can actively support equality and inclusivity. By combining process optimization with strong corporate values, Arcoprofil is committed to building a fair and forward-looking workplace, where individual skills and expertise are valued regardless of gender—laying the foundation for a truly progressive industrial future.
