Drive Shaft Balancing and Grinding
Arcoprofil drive shaft balancing and grinding. This process is crucial to ensure our final product’s precision and quality.
Drive shaft balancing is a crucial process to ensure the finalization of the parts after all the previous production stages, allowing us to provide a more precise and high-quality product.
Grinding is a finishing operation that removes small amounts of material from the shaft’s surface, often resulting from heat treatments or previous manufacturing stages.
The grinding department is one of the core departments in Arcoprofil, with cutting-edge technologies and high-level automation. In addition to the traditional measuring tools, the department also uses optical scanners to measure diameters and check the splines.
Equipped with 7 CNC grinding machines, the department can grind internal and external diameters (up to 250 mm) on parts up to 1600 mm long.
The automation of the department has led to significant benefits by minimizing manual loading. It has also improved the man/machine ratio and contributed to a safer and more accessible working environment. In particular, the reduced physical strength requirements has allowed Arcoprofil to break down the cultural barriers that traditionally kept women away from the metalworking industry.
As a matter of fact, our company is experiencing an increasing female presence, demonstrating how technological innovation can help promote inclusivity and equality.
With this approach, we not only optimize production processes but also commit to creating a fair working environment, where individual skills and abilities do not depend in any way on gender. We truly believe in these values, which form the basis of a progressive future.
