The core of Arcoprofil’s activity is splining, on which Arcopofil based its great success. Throughout the years, the splining department has continuously grown by investing in cutting-edge technologies and in its workforce training, becoming one of the few companies in Europe offering different machining methods for internal and external splining, especially for drive shaft parts.

Today, the department counts on 10 splining machines, six of which are equipped with robots.

Our company offers four splining methods depending on the design specifications, the material used and the required production volumes:

• shaper cutting (material removal): for straight internal and external spline up to Mod. 3 and 150 mm diameter
• hobbing (material removal): for external straight, helical and crowned spline up to Mod. 6, 250 mm diameter and 1700 mm maximum length
• Cold rolling with Grob Swiss System (cold forming): for external straight spline up to Mod. 3, 100 mm diameter and 2000 mm maximum length
• Felss axial forming (cold deformation, axial forming): for internal and external straight spline up to Mod. 2.5, 65 mm diameter and 250 mm maximum length
